Thu, 15 Aug 2019 - Campbell returns to happy hunting ground

Tauranga’s Phil Campbell returns to a happy hunting ground for the Dayle ITM Goldrush Rally Coromandel this weekend for the penultimate round of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship.

The Whitianga-based event was the scene of Campbell’s first NZRC round win back in 2014 and since then he has also recorded a second place in 2015 and just missed the podium with fourth in 2017.

A challenging 2019 season started with a podium finish but a pair of did-not finishes see Campbell in sixth, although still with the opportunity to get amongst ...    more...

The Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship heads to Whitianga this weekend for round 5, The Goldrush Rally of Coromandel. Where Stephen Barker will make his first appearance at the event. The rally gets underway with a Ceremonial start on Friday night before tackling 126 competitive kilometres over 8 stages on Saturday.

Wed, 14 Aug 2019 - Sheehan ready to fight for title at Coromandel

Queenstown’s Mike Sheehan will come out swinging at the penultimate round of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship, the Dayle ITM Goldrush Rally Coromandel, this weekend.

Sheehan made an almost perfect start to the season, opening with a win and a second place. A thumb injury slowed progress at the next round in Canterbury, while a freak mechanical failure saw a non-finish at the most recent round, South Canterbury. With all that added up in points land, Sheehan is an equal leader of the NZRC category 2 two-wheel drive class.

A massive entry of eighty-eight cars will start the 2019 Catlins Coast Rally on Saturday.

Wed, 7 Aug 2019 - Stokes name on Catlins Rally roads again

The name Stokes is a well-known one in New Zealand rallying and Robbie Stokes and his sister and co-driver Amy of Waikuku are representing the family name to the high standards set by their parents Brian and Anne Stokes before them.

Brian was the New Zealand rally champion in 1985 and 1988 and is still active in the sport while Robbie was just eight weeks old when he attended his first Rally New Zealand and Amy just three weeks old when she first went to the Ashley Forest Rallysprint. Growing up in that environment it was probably inevitable that ...    more...
